Future Stuff

WELL SHIT....I'd just about forgotten about this blog.  Now that I actually have stuff to talk about concerning the band I'll probably be better at remembering.  SO ANYWAYS.....

A lot has been happening with us dudes since we released the new album.  We did an album release show here at home, which went well considering the weather sucked and we had some gear issues arise during FUCKING SOUND CHECK.  Since then we've been slowly getting to work on new material, working with a 2nd guitarist, the phenomenal Jason Grevas, who in my opinion probably has the most metal name in history.  We're getting him up to speed on all the songs on the new album, at the same time collaborating on what will be the most brutal, and fresh material this band has put out to date.  What we're writing at this point will appear on a split EP with a band from New York called The Communion https://www.facebook.com/pages/THE-COMMUNION/109389099107127?ref=br_tf  which will be recorded with Scott up at Mercenary Digital Studios. We've been in contact with these gnarly dudes for a while now and are looking at the possibility of heading to the east coast to do a few shows with them.  There aren't any other details about the split as of yet, but of course once there are I'll get blazed about post about it.

Recording: Part 1

We made it to Mercenary Digital Studio in Zion, Illinois (run by Scott Creekmore) around 8pm on Friday, after making it through copious amounts of road contruction, luckily GPS exists or we'd be screwed.  Loaded in the drums, set that shit up and went the route of pizza and beer.  Saturday morning we got to tracking drums, which went off without any trouble, other than Nate getting kinda tired, so we were forced to call the whaaambulance (i joke, the guy did eleven tracks in close to four hours).  After more pizza and beer, Ross spent the next four to five hours tracking guitars (techincally twenty-two tracks thanks to doubling, beast mode activated).  We start bass and possibly vocals Sunday morning, otherwise we'll come back the next weekend to finish up.

Nate's kick drum contained zero stray cats

Enraptured By Suffering will be eleven tracks of blackenedsludgegrind, which we haven't quite decided on an actual tracklist yet, though we've got them all named as of an hour before this post:

Dance of the Heretic
Tyrants for Blood
Forged in Fire
Panzram
Ground Bleeds Sorrow
World So Wicked
Burden of Our Existence
Portrait of Scars
Summon the Leeches
Aura of Suicide
Days of Loathing

Blogsplitter

In order to save the facebook page from my inane rants and not-so-serious attitude towards drugs and rape, I converted an old blog I'd originally intended for pretentious metal reviews and shit no one really cares about.  Its still kinda bare since i made it in three minutes, so eventually I'll work on it once I stop being lazy and stoned.  I'll do my best to keep everything on here relevant to the band, though at some point I'll get some whiskey in me and sloppily post about how awesome Bolt Thrower's album art always was.

Preparing for the new album has been the number one priority for us the last few months.  It sucks to take so much time off from playing live, but we figure by focusing 100% on the new ideas, we'll have a finished product thats worth making chumps pay money for.  We're actually pretty close to finishing the new songs, and plan on spending another month or so tightening up everything thats going on the album, and by tight, I mean TIGHT.  Virgin-asshole tight.  I actually had some sweet video of Ross and Nate playing parts from two of the new songs, but of course my phone sucks huge dicks, and the audio was garbage.  So at some point I'm hoping for a bit of a preview, and if not, my album-release boner will just be 10x larger when the time comes.  Suck it.
